By downloading or using CairnGo you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully.

1. The service

CairnGo is a Munro-bagging companion app that helps you log ascents, track conditions, and plan hill trips. A free tier and a Premium subscription tier are available.

2. Account

• You must be 13 or older to create an account.
• You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure.
• One account per person. Duplicate or bot accounts may be removed.

3. Premium subscription

• Premium features include offline maps (when available), weather forecasts, the Weekend Planner, and priority support.
• Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually via Stripe.
• You may cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the paid period.
• We do not offer refunds for partial periods unless required by law.
• Prices may change with 30 days’ notice to existing subscribers.

4. Safety features disclaimer

The Safety Check-In feature is provided as a convenience only. CairnGo is not a rescue service. We cannot guarantee delivery of alert emails or their timely receipt by your contact. Always inform someone of your plans through independent means before heading into the mountains. In an emergency call 999 and ask for Police Scotland.

Weather, condition, and route data are provided for informational purposes only and may be incomplete or inaccurate. Always exercise your own judgement in mountain environments.

5. User content

• You retain ownership of content you post (photos, notes, condition reports).
• By posting, you grant CairnGo a non-exclusive licence to display that content to other users within the app.
• Do not post illegal, harmful, or misleading content. We may remove content that violates these Terms.

6. Intellectual property

The CairnGo name, logo, and app design are our property. Mountain data is sourced from the Database of British and Irish Hills (DoBIH, CC BY 4.0). Map tiles may be provided by Mapbox — see Mapbox’s terms for attribution requirements.

7. Acceptable use

You must not:

• Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or overload the CairnGo API.
• Use the service in any way that violates applicable law.
• Impersonate another person or submit false condition reports.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, CairnGo is provided “as is” without warranty. We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the app or your activities in the mountains.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the law of Scotland. Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Scotland.

10. Changes

We may update these Terms. Continued use after 30 days’ notice of material changes constitutes acceptance.
